Beuluah's advice

You will have a 6 hour layover in Chicago Dearborn station.  Buy some magazines andstay in th estation. Do not wander outside the station.(bad neighborhood)

Of course when I was in dearborn station I needed to see outside  , just to test Grandma's advice. Well I opened a side door to exit. Looked down the windy dirty street and understood she was right so I went back in and read my comic books until the Train came

The Train left in early afternoon and headed west. As we picked up sspeed  I was sitting in a dome observation car on the right side looking out . we were parallel to a road. I saw cars on th eroad  but the FOrd mustang which was new to the market was speeding along the road. The Mustang was a new and very popular model.

A few minutes later I saw a cloud of dust coming towards me Surprised I had no Idea what it was until I saw a yellow drivers side front fender  with the Mustand emblem on it fly past my window. Apparently that car had tried to beat the train at a crossing and lost. It took us a long time to stop . probably a half mile. I went tothe rear club car which had a rear observation point. Looked down the track and saw only scattered debris wher th eimpact happened. We heard from the conductor that 3 people had died.
